Matt Johnson is one of the most successful independent singers in the UK. Being only 25 years old he has succeeded himself in the entertainment industry and achieved goals way beyond his years. Starting out his career at the tender age of 10 years old Matt gained his experience at a very young age.
Matt's first string to his bow was musical theatre. Highlights include playing the Artful Dodger alongside Russ Abbott & Gary Wilmot in Cameron Mackintoshes West end production on Oliver Twist, he played a principle role in the world's most successful musical 'Les Miserables'.

At age 16 years old, Matt had an experience that would change his life and perception of music for ever. Entering into a TV talent show called 'Popstars The Rivals' presented by Davina McCall and judged by Pete Waterman, Louis Walsh and (former Spice Girl) Geri Haliwell. The shows aim was to put together a 5 piece boy band 'One True Voice' and a girl band 'Girls Aloud'.

Matt auditioned along with 130,000 other applicants. His success in the auditions led to him singing live on ITV1 & ITV2 to an audience of over 12 million. After three months on TV and receiving more than 6 million public votes, Matt went on to win a place in the winning group 'One True Voice'.
Matt released his first single with the band in 2002 'Sacred Trust' which went on to sell over half a million copies in the UK and reached number 2 in the UK official charts, earning Matt his first Gold Disc.
Matt appeared on some of the UKs top TV shows such as, GMTV, This Morning, CDUK, Top Of The Pops, Jonathan Ross, Des & Mel and many more.
In June 2003 Matt went on to achieve a further UK top ten hit. He continued to perform on a regualr basis at some of the UK's top venues.
When Matt reached 19 years old he wanted to try something new and formed a Pop/Rock band called State Warning. The band was a huge hit with audiences across the UK, and at their peak supported musical legends 'The Who' and multi platinum album selling band KEANE.
Over the past 5 years Matt has performed over 1000 gigs in the UK and internationally, he has worked for the biggest holiday companies in the United Kingdom; from Haven to Butlins, Ponitns to Park Resorts, Park Holidays UK and has had the privilege of performing for many now happily married couples across the UK.

Matt was also lucky enough to support boyband legends Westlife on part of their 2008 UK arena tour arranged by Louis Walsh and CMP entertainment. In March 2009 he was again privileged to be asked to support the Sugababes on one of their spring shows in London.
Matt still devotes time to marketing himself as a songwriter and has plans to release a song through itunes in the near future. Due to extreme popularity Matt spends most weekends at Weddings and functions, Matt performs at 120 to 140 weddings per year, its best to enquire very early if you are thinking of hiring Matt for your entertainment as dates go extremely fast.
